It is certainly prudent to explore your options and see which other platform(s) seems like the best for your personal needs.

If you don't find exactly what you're looking for, then you can create a community for it. If you indeed have a cluster of friends coming over from Cohost, who all share the same interest, then this may be an excellent idea.

Those are good uses. Dreamwidth is very flexible and can be put to diverse purposes. Browse around and you'll see many different types of blogs and posts here.

That's okay. Dreamwidth is reasonably kink-friendly. You can use cuts, filters, or other tools to hide things that may not be to everyone's taste. It's your blog. You can do whatever you want with it. In case anyone fusses, you also have privacy and moderation tools to get them out of your fur.

fandomcalendar and fandom_on_dw are bulletin board sites for finding events. Some fandoms have their own calendar site too.

allbingo and crowdfunding are two places that host monthly fests on different themes or fandoms. allbingo lets people volunteer to host fests, and has done kink in the past. I don't think there's been a furryfest, that's an option too.

There are many recommendation communities where folks link to favorite fanfics. Search your fandoms on the Interests page to find these.

Let Your Freak Flag Fly lists many communities that may appeal to Cohost users.
